Round 2!
So I got my right hand carpal tunnel surgery done early this morning. (Left hand was done in Dec.) This time it hurts a bit more than the first go round...but it's manageable and haven't dipped into the more potent pain meds...yet! Didn't even need the extra boost of pain meds after previous surgery so I'm hopeful that Ibuprofen will do the trick!

The highlight of the event was learning to rely on another person and having an acquaintance drive me to the surgical center. I was a bit hesitant to ride with someone I didn't know too well, but family weren't available. I trusted God and all went well! Surgery was scheduled at 7:30 am and by 8:30 am I was back in the friend's car and leaving for home!
My 'driver' introduced me to a new coffee and 'on-site made' ice cream shop behind Mifflinburg/Vicksburg somewhere...The Old Mill Creamery. (For those who are local, I'll add a link about this great little shop!) This linked article is brought to you by Valley Girl Views, a great site to follow if you are interested in central PA histroy! Of course, I bought coffee for the a.m. and salted caramel ice cream for a p.m. treat! The mocha coffee didn't quite measure up to Starbucks, but nonetheless, it was a great cup of coffee for my first beverage of the day! The ice cream is TBD but since I haven't had ice cream in many months I'm sure it will be delish!
The point of this post, though, is to thank my friend who selflessly picked me up at 5:15 am and to thank all those who go out of their way to help others when in need. The willingness of this friend has taught me a lesson and reinforced to me the great 'gift' of simple acts of kindness. Reminder to myself and all....HELP OTHERS as you are able. Step out of your comfort zone and do things that may be a stretch for you. I pray I will be able to follow the example of my friend, Beth Walter. Thank you to all who assisted me today!
