I Dare You!
Writing to those who have placed their faith in the atoning work of Christ and who have committed to love and serve God!

I’ve been studying the book of 1 Samuel in the Old Testament. Today I was at the end of chapter 12 and was touched by the words of Samuel to the people of Israel.
If you know the Old Testament stories, you’ll remember that the nation of Israel had a long history of relying on and trusting God, only to turn away from God and pursue life their own ways…MANY times! Their wavering and disobedience were always forgiven by God and they were, on every occasion of falling away from Him, given a new opportunity to trust in Him and live in obedience to what God wanted for their lives and for the nation, as His holy and chosen people.
On this occasion, Samuel, as an old man and leader of the nation of Israel, had a word for his people who were looking to their newly appointed King, Saul, to lead their land. Samuel’s words to Israel hold true for us today, as we seek to live for Christ and live under the authority of and in obedience to Almighty God! Samuel told the nation:
“Fear the Lord and serve Him in truth with all your heart;
for consider what great things He has done for you!”
1 Samuel 12:24 NKJV
Lots to think about in these words! Consider and apply them to YOUR life…as you make choices, as you interact with others, and as you represent Christ in the world today and every day!
FEAR the Lord!
SERVE Him!
Do it with ALL YOUR HEART!
