Happy Saturday!
Updated: Dec 10, 2022
Being new to the craft of blogging, I'm finding myself at a loss for an appropriate post today. I know enough about blogging to keep my thoughts and words 'short and sweet', but my tendency in conversation is to 'ramble'. (I sometimes wonder if the person I'm talking to is thinking...."get on with it, Lindy")! I know it's important that a post be relevant and interesting, but today I can't seem to condense my thoughts enough to make a suitable post. I tend to get too "teachy", I think! I don't want to post simply for the sake of keeping this blog 'active', yet I also know I can't just let the blog flounder or become stagnant once it's officially deemed "open".
My focused desire is to share Christ and His love...and using words and writing seems to be what is most comfortable and easy for me. (Though, like today, that effort can even be a challenge). Today I'm simply going to encourage and challenge each reader to move slowly and with purpose throughout this day. It's very wise to be intentional about our choices of activity and to consider how or if our actions are glorifying God.
All that said, this morning I had a nice breakfast and conversation with my sister and a phone call with my daughter; both were positive, encouraging and sweet. I spent time praying a bit and in God's word...reading in the book of Deuteronomy, then read through two devotionals that I like and strive to read daily, as well as a new little book of encouraging words that my pastor's wife gave to the women of the church at this week's Christmas dinner. I try to make an intentional effort to listen to positive and encouraging music throughout the day. Today I asked Alexa to play "Christian Christmas" music....and she found some! I have also been enjoying a new outlet of music and God's Word called, "Family Radio". I can't recall where I first found the link or ad for this station, but I'm sure glad I did! Check out the web site and download the app at: https://www.familyradio.org/download-our-app/. You can also find the app on your phone via the Google Play Store…FREE. The station currently provides a very nice blend of Christmas music, prayer, scripture and some teaching. I've taken to playing this station all through the night and it's so nice to wake up (as I intermittently do) through the night and be blessed with sweet music. I've been trying to consciously adjust my life to become more instep with God's will and ways...24-7 and 365! *I'm not always successful and you won't be either...but let's keep striving!
Let me encourage you today to do whatever it takes in your life to be deliberate about making right and Godly choices. It's THAT important! Being conscious and asking yourself the familiar phrase, "What would Jesus do?" can be applied to all areas of your life. It may require sacrifice or change as you examine and adjust your life and habits.
Especially in the crazy, confusing chaos of the holiday season, and also in the midst of quiet and calm times, it is so beneficial to SLOW DOWN and examine just what we are doing and saying, what choices we are making and HOW and WHY what we do is (or is not) impacting the world for the cause of Christ.
The last words for this post? "BE INTENTIONAL" in your choices today!

"Serve the LORD with gladness and delight; Come before His presence with joyful singing. Know and fully recognize with gratitude that the LORD Himself is God; It is He who has made us, not we ourselves [and we are His]. We are His people and the sheep of His pasture." Psalms 100:1-5 Amplified Bible (AMP)
